ARE YOU A HAM-N-EGGA?

We've all seen them in the gym, sitting on the leg-curl machine, or dangling their feet from the life-cycle as they talk on their cellular-phone, or sitting on the incline bench, staring distantly into the mirror - surely resting between sets...  How many of these people, who "work out" day after day, have actually made improvements to their body?  In each case, it is 99% certain that these "ham-n-eggaz" are in the same, or even worse, shape than when they entered the gym for the very first time.

Whether your goal is success on the bodybuilding stage, the fitness stage, tightening and toning to look better at the pool or beach, or general wellness, it is important to define your purpose, your goal.

Why do you do it?  Why do you go to the gym, or to your  aerobics or tai-bo class? or exercise at all?

Maybe it's the hunger for victory in competition, or  maybe it's the thrill of self-improvement, competing only against the face in the mirror.  Whatever it is that drives you in your quest for self-improvement, recognize it, and harness it!   As you make your way through your day, and your exercise program, be sure to keep your focus.  Steven Covey says, "Begin with the end in mind."  Keep in mind the purpose, and the pains of the task become part of the worth of our goal, and have a reason.

Don't be a ham-n-egga!  Stay focused on the task at hand, keep your goal well-defined, and give meaning to all that you do!  Don't waste your time or energy!  Make each minute count, and achieve your goals!
